Tariku Gebre well come the members and chaired the meeting. Also Tariku well come new school principal to be the member of the Local Group.
Also Tariku told the committee that this meeting was so emergency meeting since there is no time and was not able to call Yohannes Assefa and Yohannes Nigusie. And ask the committee apology for making such emergency meeting and stressed this meeting may really change the life of so many children. Tariku also told them the reason to call such emergency meeting is that TAS will be having Meeting on 26 August 2010 and it is the only right time, Of course on time, to submitted the proposal to Gill Marshal Andrews so that she can present it during TAS meeting. If not the not TAS meeting will be on October which will be late to help Langano school where schooling starts in the Month October and he has mentioned that this it the right time and chance which should not be missed.

Ø New Building.
The committee has expressed their thanks to TAS concerning the new Building which is under construction and which will be soon ready for use.
It was found that the new building will be ready for new school year and school director and Parent teachers association committee are told to mobilize the community people to send all their children to school since the new building will increase the acceptance number of the student to about 1400 students. This population of student is too large for the 8 class rooms but since there is no another alternative where student can go to attained their education, the committee has agreed to accept all children who are coming to school
Ø Awareness Creating.
It is agreed that every committee has to play his/her role of creating awareness within the community about the value of education. It is found that the community has got weak attitude towards Education since most of them are uneducated and it is found that there are a lot of works to be done to change the attitude of the community.
Ø Teachers.
The school director has mentioned that except some teachers who were some times absent from school without permission, others have done great work. As a result the student has improved a lot in their education because of the hard work of these teachers/ who are hired by TAS. The committee has also commented that these teachers has to teach for coming year since they were so good in their work and delivering what the students need.
Ø Sponsoring students who complete grade 8th at Langano School change the attitude of other children in the school
Because of the sponsorship present for outstanding student every year, there is a lot of competition among student to be a part of the program. This helped the school to have excellent student for the area. To show this as true those student who were sponsored last year as first year student are by far better that second year students and it is expected to have better student this year too.
Ø Hiring nursery school school teacher.
The committee has agreed that hiring a nursery teacher and working on the first grade and Kindergarten children will increase the knowledge of the children as they grow mentally, physically, and educational. So it is must to hire someone who will train only nursery children since the children from the area have got no other chance of going too nursery school since there is no such school. For this, the committee has suggested to hire female teacher since female are so patients and can help the kids. The committee has agreed to hire a total of five teachers and the details is included in the Proposal
Ø Materials needed for the new building
The committee has commented that the new building needs quality black boards, Desks, and other materials. These materials has to be available by the mid of September 2010. The committee has agreed to get Blackboards, duplicating papers, chalks so that the teaching learning process will be so smooth.
Ø Tariku’s Report.
Tariku reported to the committee that he has raised a fund and has ordered 120desks for the school. He added that in the month of July17, 2010, Tariku has got donation in items about 380 bags with school kits and has given to the school director and PTA (parent Teachers’ Committee) Chairperson.. The committee is so happy about the contribution.
In addition to this, Tariku Has make a commitment to find out how to get donation in items like Soccer balls and sport uniforms for under 14 years of school students.. All these donations were received from USA citizens Namely Julie and her Daughter, Jordan, Teresa, Kent. We are so thank full these people. God bless them all for their unceasing contribution they have done to the school.
Also Tariku has reported to the committee that the fund of the fifth teacher who drop last year is available in the Bank and can be used this year for the benefits for the school and children.
Tariku also report that he has got report card form first year bursaries most of them, out of six five of them, are ranking from 1 -9. And he told the committee this is good result.
The committee commented on first year bursaries that are going to be in the program. The school director told the committee that six children are not yet selected because the Regional exam result is not yet given to the children. And it is regional exam result which will help the school to select who are the six children.
That why only the name of students who were in the school last school year are listed in this minute. The school director promised to work on the new students who are going to be sponsored for this year with other teachers and report to Tariku as soon as possible.
Ø Weather condition of this year.
The committee has commented that last year there was no rain at all and all the people in the community survived because government has make intervention program and was providing foods people need. But this year the rain is normal and crops are at good condition and it is expected that large number of the students are coming to school. The committee was so thankful for Ethiopian Government who has helped its people.
Ø School inauguration
The committee has decided to make the next meeting during new building inauguration.
Finally the committee has discussed the six proposals and reach to agreement and the Secretary and the chairperson as signed the proposal and Tariku was given an assignment to send the proposal and Minute to Gill Marshal Andrews.
Since there was no another agenda to discuss, the meetings ends at 1:05pm.
