This is one of the most challenging schools TAS has supported. With a community that does not value education, problems with governance and a harsh environment it has been a challenge to improve the school. At last there are signs of change and the borehole recently installed has been well received. Sadly it does not yield drinking water but it will provide for cleaning/cooking and agriculture so, with the new guttering and tanks provided to catch the rainwater for drinking, it is hoped that the school will be self suffficient in water. Various incentives have been tried to encourage children to attend and numbers on roll are gradually. increasing. |
