 School update:

The school looked in good order.  The staff quarters are completed and 6 staff are living in the rooms.  They pay 400/- per month rent to cover maintenance of the building.

Water and power are all fine.

The mock exam results were good – a mean score of 5.  The highest subject was Physics which in a girls school is an excellent result.  The target score in the real exam next month is a bit higher.

The display board was in use.  There was a discussion about how it can be used to full effect to give information about the school, the outside funding and KWS.

Kenya Wildlife Service

The AD said he would gladly arrange for students to go in to the parks.  The school should just liaise with him about dates etc.  KWS is willing to work more closely with the school.

TAS funding

The funds are in place for the new classroom.  This may be the last major project for funding as TAS may be looking to move to support another school.  However, next year TAS will be happy to look at funding trips and curriculum resources.

Next meeting will be in January 2015 when Gill is out again.
