Minutes:
Note of a meeting at Kora Secondary School on
22 October 2019
Present:
Victor Maina HT, Ismail
Solola, Mr Kulisha, and several members of staff plus
Stephen Kameti TAS /KWS co-ordinator, Gill Marshall-Andrews TAS UK.
School Update:
There are 92 students on roll – approx equal numbers of
boys and girls.
16 candidates are about to take the KCSE.
There are 5 TSC teachers with one more expected in
January, 2 BOM teachers.
The school has participated in local games and drama
competitions with some success.
There are now 4 classrooms built by the Ministry and 2 by
the CDF. A science lab is promised. Parents have built a mud and sticks staff
room.
The TAS funded kitchen and store looks good and is much
appreciated by the students. They are
urgently requesting a dormitory.
Possible projects:
The priority projects are:
Fence, girls dormitory, educational tour, TV/DVD, and a
partnership with UK school.
These will be discussed with the MP Ali Wario.
Post meeting note:
The priority projects were discussed with the local
MP. He has indicated that he will
consider either a fence or a dormitory.
