Evaluating the three tenders already received and awarding the tender so work can start immediately.

The tender was awarded to Mbugua Kimani.
BA would arrange the transfer of funds so this urgent work could begin.
The HT said he’d like to meet Mbugua before he starts work so he can get to know him and discuss where to build the toilets/washrooms.
WA gave the HT Mbugua’s number and BA called Mbugua who arranged a meeting with the HT.
.Shalimah Water.
-Evaluating the costs as quoted by the hardware Grapeland stores in Naivasha.
-Deciding where the pipes will be delivered so Shalimah can work on the job of installing this 2” water pipe.
-Retrieving the old pipe so it could be used in a different capacity.
-Discussion of the on spot supervision of delivery of the pipes and the overall supervision.

TEACHERS:
. Has the TSC now posted new teachers?

One new teacher has just been posted by TSC.
The school is entitled to 55 teachers from the TSC
So far, there are 27 teachers from TSC.
5 teachers are sponsored by Bilashaka.
James Mwangi is sponsored by the Lows.
1 teacher will be sponsored by Grace Gray for 3 years for which, thank you very much.
There may be 500 Euros available from a lady in Germany which could go towards a teacher.

The sponsoring of another teacher who was sponsored through Diana Low’s friend has come to an end.

The HT said he would like this same teacher Pauline to now be sponsored by Grace Gray.
FIND OUT:
-If Mr. Njenga Mungai (NM) the manager of GRVL had sent someone to evaluate toilets and water collection systems as promised at the last meeting.

Njenga Mungai affirmed that GRVL would indeed sponsor LPS by donating an 8,000 litre water tank.
He would also send a specialist this week to LPS to assess water collection and the state of the students’ toilets.
-Find out if builder Joseph Kimani Mbugua has now repaired the gutter to the four black water tanks as promised.

-Find out of there has been a commitment from the MP to set funds aside for the repair of the students’ toilets.

There had been a meeting with the MP.
It had been agreed that:
-An 8,000 litre tank would be provided through the MP.
-A new pit latrine for students would be built in a higher positioned area, to prevent mud filling up the latrines during rains.
-School feeding program would be set in motion.
This would require a kitchen, a store and a dining room to be funded by the MP.
The estimated cost of the kitchen, store and dining facility would be 5 million Shillings.
2 million Shillings would be from CDF.
1 million from Shalimah.
500,000 shillings possibly form DP Ruto, visiting soon.
The rest would have to be through fundraising.
Further feedback from the HT revealed that Mr. Ruto the DP would visit St. Andrews Tarabete on 28.2.20.
The HT who knew Mr. Ruto would approach him on the funding and setting up of the LPS kitchen.
COMPUTERS:
.BA and WA would collect the laptops donated by Grace Gray to take them to the Naivasha computer shop so Windows 10 can be installed and a suitable printer installed.
A computer specialist from Naivasha would also be sent to the school to install the laptops and train two teachers into the use and maintenance of the laptops.
In future, the same specialist would be available for troubleshooting.

There is no WiFi at the school.
All the staff depend on their individual “bundles” which is quite expensive and cumbersome.
It was agreed that the HT would look into this.
