School update
The school
now has 126 students on roll ( 65 boys /61 girls)
The girls
are generally performing better than the boys.
The 2023 KCPE
mean score of 155 was very poor again although
slightly improved on last year. This
reflects the poor management over the
last 2 years.
The new
headteacher has set a target of 250 for next year although there will not be
KCPE exams set in the usual way in 2024.
This is because the new CBC is being established and this requires
continuous assessment.
Boarding is
scheduled to start in March.
Parents
have been working on the school shamba and delivering food for children’s
lunches. They also have to pay 1000/-
per term per parent (not per child).
More trees
are promised from SK and KWS. The
compound looks great. The caretaker TAS paid for for 2 years worked will and
ensured that the trees were well established.
Also its the only school that has flowers!
There are 6
TSC teachers – all male. And the BOM
funds 2 female teachers.
Proposals
for funding
They are
applying to CDF for a much needed office.
Projects for TAS to consider : Boys
dormitory, a large banda for learners
with furniture, and a trip. (Not all of these will be possible to fund).
