School update

The school has a new Principal .....  She has only been in post for 3 weeks.  She presented an impressive note of the state of the school and its needs.

The school has, as usual, been left pretty much unattended for 3 months despite the requirement for a rota of teachers to be in school to cover the whole holiday period.

There are now 131 students on roll with 51 new recruits in Form 1.  This is an excellent start to the year.

50 students are boarding – 40 girls and 10 boys.

There are only 4 TSC teachers compared to the full complement of 9.  The HT expects more teachers to be allocated soon.

The roof of one of the TAS bandas has collapsed due to heavy rainfall.  It will be repaired by the school.

TAS projects still to be undertaken with PRD funding:

Construction of an Applied Learning banda

Construction of 3 study bandas for use by staff and the community.

Completion of the sports project

Educational trip.

Solar power to dining hall and library

Miscelleneous  science  resources, admin equipment, lockers and chairs.

The total sum available for these projects is KES 5m.  It would be good to get them done asap  so as to take advantage of the favourable exchange rate.
