Ever since TAS began supporting Madogo Secondary School in 2009 a fence has been on the agenda. The school has a huge compound which is gradually being eroded by goats and cows, and encroached by squatters as land values in Garissa rise.
The problem has been agreeing the boundaries and this has been hugely political and fractious.
Finally, it was agreed that we should concentrate on fencing the classroom and dormitory area so at least that smaller zone can be protected and landscaped.
Work is now underway and this smaller fence is being constructed under the supervision of Kenya Wildlife Service.
