Usueni Girls Secondary School leads the way in girls education in this very remote area on the Tana River.For the first time it has admitted 4 young mothers to the school and given them a second chance at education. These able and committed young women are determined to get into college and give themselves and their children a better chance in life.The students at the school are also breaking new ground with their newly acquired green house. Now that water is pumped from the river to the school they are successfully growing tomatoes and plan to try other crops in future. |
