Business and Entreprise at Usueni
23/01/2014

Norbury Manor Business and Entrepsise College for Girls, have received funding from the British Council's Connecting Classrooms programme for the partnership with Usueni Girls Secondary School.2 Teachers from Usueni visited Norbury in November and the reciprocal visit is being planned for May.TAS has funded a business centre at Usueni with sewing machines which it is hoped will be used for the entreprise activities being planned. There is a great deal of interest in this project.  Most students leaving secondary school do not go on to further education and youth unemployment is extremely high - 80% is parts of the country. So self employment and entreprise skills are of the utmost importance.
New staff houses for 8 teachers are now complete and are being commissioned.  The visiting teachers from Uk will stay in these.
