Boka Primary School has come a long way. Five years ago a few children were sitting on the floor of a dilapidated classroom. Now the school has expanded, TAS has provided desks, a kitchen, girls dormitory, solar power, fencing, school trips, TV/DVD, books and much else. And others have played their part too. The CDF has built a new staff room, and boys dormitory while EU funding has provided guttering and water tanks.
And now the school has become the first in the county to receive the long awaited government laptops. A newly qualified IT teacher showed us how it works.55 tablets have been delivered along with a teacher's laptop loaded with the whole curriculum for Standard 1 and 2. The screen is projected onto one of the classroom walls. Its a big step and a big challenge for the whole school but the staff are determined to make it work.
