Boka Conservation Day - Stop the charcoal burning!
08/03/2018
On 4 March 2018 Boka Primary School held a high profile Conservation Day funded by TAS. The event was attended by the Tana River Governor and Education Minister who took part in the dancing! But there was a serious message conveyed - stop the charcoal burning in and around Kora National Park. The community was addressed by, among others, the Tana River Governor Dr Godhana, Bob Marshall-Andrews of George Adamson Wildlife Preservation Trust and Gill Marshall-Andrews of TAS. At the event the Governor promised to ban logging in the area and to allocate funds for a fence around the park which is being dramatically - possibly irreversibly- degraded.TAS is seeking funds for tree nurseries in all the schools it supports. |
