New Fences for Mitamysi and Kora Secondary Schools
26/09/2020
During the COVID lockdown all schools were closed in March with the expectation that they would not open till January 2021. However as Kenya has not suffered significantly from the pandemic it was decided to open schools up to exam classes in October 2020. During the early lockdown, teachers were not on site so no work could be undertaken. However by June the headteachers were visiting their schools and so construction projects could start up again. Both these secondary schools urgently needed fences to secure their compounds, to deter squatters and animals, and enable the planting of trees and vegetables.Work was started in June and completed in July. The construction company contributed to the cost by offering a reduction for Mitamysi and the George Adamson Wildlife Preservation Trust funded the wonderful new gates.
