| Bursaries for talented children in Eburru

The Eburru Secondary School Trust has launched a bursary scheme for children whose families cannot pay the school fees. At any one time, around 30% of students on roll - including some of the most talented - are absent from school for this reason. The effect on their learning, and ultimately on their life chances, are disastrous. The Trust has raised money to support 4 students for four years and aims to extend the scheme. (Fees for 1 student for one year are £100 or £150 for a boarder). |
