Despite the recent images of violence in Kenya most of the country is operating normally. The start of the school term was delayed by a week but teachers and students have now returned and schools are back to normal. Trustees meetings in TAS schools in January took place as planned and were well attended, There is a strong commitment to behaving normally and continuing with school improvement projects.
But there is also a sense of desperation that the troubles have set the country back. Tourism has collapsed, hotels have closed and large numbers of workers have been laid off.
It is clear that Kenya needs help more than ever now.
