A brand new trust has been established to support the Madogo Secondary School near Garissa in the Tana River district of Kenya.
This is a very remote and poor part of the country. The secondary school serves pastoralist families in a huge area of arid and semi arid land. Very few primary school students get a chance for secondary education and the area has never produced a university graduate.
Trustees on this new board include Mike Makau who represents the Kalonzo Musyoka Foundation, a Kenyan charity with whom TAS is now working on school improvement projects in poor areas.
