TAS in partnership with Kenya Wildlife Service
06/10/2008

TAS trustees have agreed in principle with the Kenya Wildlife Service that we will work together on projects to support schools in the very poor Eastern Region of Kenya.

The idea is that a joint appointment is made of a Co-ordinator of School Trusts.  TAS will seek separate funding for the salary and office costs of this post and KWS will provide line management, office accommodation, communications and transport.  The person will be based in Mwingi and will be tasked with developing and supporting more school trusts around the Meru and Kora National Parks.

In the words of Michael Kipkeu, Senior Assistant Director of Parks TAS is a 'godsend'.  We can help KWS deliver their corporate and social responsibilities to communities near the parks and they can help TAS with project management, communications and transport.

We hope to interview for the new post in January 2008.
