KWS / TAS partnership
25/02/2009

On 14 February 2009 Stephen Kameti took up his post as TAS Liaison Officer in the Mwingi office of the Kenya Wildlife Service.  He was appointed by a joint KWS /TAS interview panel in Janiuary.  He is a KWS employee funded by TAS with a generous grant from the Waterloo Foundation.

Steven's task is to establish 4 new school trusts in the semi arid, remote area South West of Kora National Park. KWS have a corporate and social responsibility to engage with local communities around their National Parks and this partnership with TAS will, we hope, help to improve this aspect of their work.

This is an exciting development for TAS.  We are striving to expand without incurring administration costs and this model of expansion could be replicated if it proves successful.
