Improved exam results in Asako
16/02/2010

Asako Primary School has seen a dramatic improvement in their Standard 8 students' KCPE (Kenya Certificate of Primary Education) results.

In 2008, the school had no students taking the exam but the recently announced results for 2009 saw 4 boys and 1 girl getting marks of over 250 (out of 500) - the grade which allows a student to progress to secondary school.  The school had set itself the target of 8 passes but sadly they didnt reach this goal.  This may have been due in part to the drought which disrupted the education of many students and led to a lower pass rate across the country.

The school's mean mark in the 2009 exams was 225 compared to 168 in 2007.  This is real progress which we hope will continue.
