Results of the 2009 KCSE exams at Eburru were a cause for celebration by students, staff and trustees last week. The school's mean mark has increased from 2.8 to 4.3 - a 50% improvement! Not only that but the number of students sitting the exam increased from 45 to 59 with 44% of these being girls!
The school now has hopes that it can expand to 2 forms of entry and is seeking funding from a variety of sources for additional classrooms and teaching staff.
The teacher exchange programme with Langley Park School for Girls in Bromley is having great benefits for both schools. Three teachers from Langley have recently been in Eburru working in the classroom and in after school clubs. An inspiring project for everyone concerned.
Congratulations to all the students, teachers, trustees, donors and well wishers. By working together, things can really be changed.
