Celebrations at Mivukoni
29/07/2010

A colourful celebration took place at Mivukoni Secondary School on 17 July to mark the opening of the bandas and girls dormitories, planting of trees, breaking ground for the new library and the handing over of a large quantity of science equipment from West Anglia College in UK.

Pauline Kalonzo, the wife of the Vice President and local MP, attended along with Assistant Director of KWS Jonathan Kirui and other dignatories and trustees of the Mivukoni and Usueni Secondary School Trusts.

24 boxes of microscopes, test tubes and other science equipment are to be shared between the two schools. They were transported to Nairobi by the charity Aviation without Borders and thence by truck to the school.  Local CDF funds were made available to secure the release of the goods from Nairobi Airport where they were in danger of languishing due to lack of funds for customs and storage.
